The Joe Startup goal is to help people realize their dreams by democratizing innovation and entrepreneurship. A simple-to-use startup builder is needed to create a startup revolution.

The idea is to enable anyone around the world to create a startup plan or solve complex problems on a PC, tablet or smartphone. Planning a business seems impossibly hard. Startup plans are not rocket surgery if broken down into pieces. Any Joe can do it.

We wanted to offer something different than a complicated, dull business plan writer. So we created an "un-business" business creator that could be shared.

Join the revolution. Startup simply. Simply startup.

Chris Mumford is the creator of the Joe Startup Plan. He is a professor of practice at the Kenan-Flagler Business School at UNC Chapel Hill. Mumford also facilitates design thinking and entrepreneurship at Springboard NC, a non profit focused on empowering low resource individuals by starting social enterprises and businesses. He is the co-founder of Launch Chapel Hill, a business accelerator, and 1789, a co-working space. Mumford also facilitates workshops trying to solve complex economic and social problems. He helps communities create innovation ecosystems.

During the last 20 years, Mumford has started businesses and social enterprises in the US and Asia. He has served in the role of VP Sales and Marketing, VP Design, CFO, COO and CEO. His current projects include design, education, healthcare and consumer products. Linkedin profile
